RSPCA quick to take money by mistake but not quick to return it when it was the fault of Rapca

Extremely disappointed my money was taken from my Acc after I cancelled the policies due to unforeseen financial issues well before the DD and in the cooling of period. When I rang to have the money returned immediately I was told I never nominated an account to use therefore it would be 5 to 10days for the money to be returned. I obviously gave an account as my money was taken. I had not signed or authorised the Direct debit, however it became my fault that I cannot have my money returned straight away. The customer service lady didn’t have a clue how to handle it and could not even name the bank the company uses. I was basically not apologised too but just repeatedly told unfortunately it will take 5 to 10 working days and there is nothing she can do. I have emails from RSPCA 5 days before the DD confirming my cancellations of the 4 policies but still that didn’t stop the debit. I would like to know whom would be feeding my family for the next week or 10days 😡

Something to improve on - please invest in a pre recorded terms and conditions message - having to listen to someone read it out is down right confusing, not to mention its even more so confusing for them to have to read so much out! Thats the only unprofessional thing I found! Service was out standing !
